The cd "Closer", by Joy Division, arrived as promised. This cd is absolutely wonderful. It was the last studio album by the band and you can feel Ian Curtis's tormented soul throughout the songs. But especially in the song "Passover". Curtis committed suicide soon after; and the band changed their name for the third and final time, New Order/5().

Joy Division- Closer Joy Division, for those of you who don't know were a British post-punk band with a frighteningly suicidal lead singer. Ian Curtis, the man in question, did end up killing himself shortly after the completion of Closer's recording. The sorrow and masterfully ironic one-liners decorate the album in a sort of oblique ice/5.

The album ''Closer'' by Joy Division is the equivalent to Rock music of what Mozart's requiem was for Classical music. The same way Mozart knew his death was near, the lyrics of ''Closer'' written by Curtis, tells a lot about his frame of mind at the time the band was recording the album/5(90).

admabwingfannocul.bobscompthekusineticconfransrolltorre.co In retrospect, Closer, the second and final album by this Mancunian band, seems to point straight at singer Ian Curtis's suicide, which happened a few months before it was admabwingfannocul.bobscompthekusineticconfransrolltorre.co band's reverberating mesh of minor-key lines and Curtis's bass voice are gloomy enough on their own, and attention to the words reveals references to blacker-than-black /5().

Oct 29,  · Still, originally released in , a month before the surviving Joy Division members issued their first New Order album, Movement, is a ragged, enigmatic coda, an uneven odds-and-ends collection.
